Mark Wilcox (seen above) has been named the new group chief financial officer by Ascot Group. In this position, he will report to company CEO and president Jonathan Zaffino. On Nov. 8, Wilcox is anticipated to begin fulfilling his duties.
Wilcox will oversee the capital strategy and Ascot’s worldwide finance organisation in this capacity. This covers a broad range of duties, such as managing tax and treasury operations as well as financial planning and analysis.
He previously served as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Selective Insurance Group before joining Ascot. He was in charge of managing the company’s capital management strategy and global finance operations while at Selective. He was instrumental in modernising the organization’s financial reporting procedure during his tenure and helped to significantly increase shareholder value.
Mark worked more than 13 years with Renaissance Re in Bermuda before joining Selective, where he held important positions like senior vice president, corporate controller, and chief accounting officer.

In addition, Zaffino thanked departing CFO Joe Roberts for his years of dedication and leadership to the company.
Zaffino took over as CEO from Andrew Brooks earlier this year after Brooks decided to retire but continue on as a board member.
