People: Debrett’s Private Finance; Harris Lamb

Tim Jones joined the company after earning a Masters of Science in Applied Marine Science from the University of Plymouth. He had previously earned a first-class Honours degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia.

Director Dr. Holly Smith noted that since Harris Lamb established its Environmental Department in 2018, the team has rapidly grown and now offers a wide range of services to the company’s clients, who are experiencing an increase in demand.

Tim is a great fit for our department because he not only has the academic accomplishments to help us grow our offering, but he also brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge in the fields of GIS and wildlife surveying, including volunteer conservation work in Greece and Madagascar and time spent working as a Research Assistant in a marine conservation organisation producing a report on blue carbon.

He is proven to be a tremendous asset to the company and is very dedicated to environmental programmes on every level, she continued.

Jones stated: “I have always had a strong interest in ecology and have spent a lot of time expanding my knowledge and abilities to help the environment.

I’m therefore thrilled to be able to pursue my passion professionally.

“My voluntary contributions to date have included working with the Madagascar Research and Conservation Institute in Nosy Komba, where I studied the diversity of animal, reptile, and bird species, and identified changes in forest dynamics, populations, habitat health, and potential localised threats to help protect the critically endangered Sambirano forests, and in Lixouri, Greece, where I conducted beach surveys, protected nests, and tracked turtles as part of a critical conservation effort.

I’m thrilled to be able to use and develop my skills while working with a knowledgeable and committed team, and I’m enthusiastic to be contributing to raising environmental awareness and completing significant ecological projects to support Harris Lamb’s commercial and residential clients,” he continued.

Two new hires have been welcomed by Debrett’s Private Finance (DPF) to its growing staff.

A seasoned business executive with a background in data, technology, and finance, Leigh Wells. He established Comma Group, a consulting firm, in 2015 and expanded it to a global level, hiring over 50 individuals in the US and the UK. He sold the company to the US-based Amplifi Group in 2021, and as Chief Growth Officer of the new company, he joined the board. Leigh joins DPF as COO and will be in charge of managing day-to-day operations and all operational issues.

Luke Knight has worked as a financial advisor and analyst for many years. He has a first-class degree in theoretical physics and mathematics, is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments, and attended Lancaster University.

From Zeus Capital, where he worked as an investment banking analyst, Luke joins. As a Senior Analyst at DPF, he is in charge of all facets of transaction analysis and related tasks.

DPF Chairman Darryl Eales said: “We are delighted to welcome Leigh and Luke to the company. They join us during a time of significant expansion, and their knowledge and lessons learned from working in other fields and environments will be priceless.
