The 10-year prison term for Ng, a Malaysian national who was found guilty in the US for his part in the scam, was supposed to start on October 6, but US officials permitted the punishment to be postponed so Ng could go back to Malaysia and help with the investigation.

The length of Ng’s stay in Malaysia, where he also has four allegations against him, is unknown.
