Employees of Walgreens pharmacies in the US prepare to strike – CNN

According to an organiser, pharmacy staff at several Walgreens locations in the United States, including pharmacists, technicians, and support staff, plan to strike between Monday and Wednesday.

According to the network, which cited workers in three states, some personnel intend to strike for one day while others anticipate closing their pharmacies for all three.

The story stated that the strike was in protest of what pharmacy personnel described as onerous prescription and immunisation requirements put on pharmacists.

Reuters was unable to immediately get in touch with the reported action’s participants for comment.

In an email answer, Walgreens stated that it was involved and paying attention to the issues brought up by certain of its team members. “We are making significant investments in chemist wages and hiring bonuses to attract/retain talent in harder to staff locations,” the business stated.

Kaiser Permanente nurses, medical technicians, and support employees took a 72-hour work stoppage at hospitals and clinics this week in the largest healthcare industry strike in American history.

Despite union officials’ warnings of potential more walkouts, the 75,000-worker strike was called off on Friday when the two sides decided to resume stalled contract negotiations.
