CHART OF THE DAY: According to Bank of America, the long-term equity bull market is still strong.

The Bank of America Chart of the Day illustrates the Dow Jones Industrial Average’s long-term growth.

The graphic indicates to BofA that, following the Dow’s record high this week, the long-term bull market in stocks is still very much alive.

Since 2013, when it broke out of a 13-year horizontal consolidation range that started at the top of the 2000 dot-com boom, the US stock market has been in a secular bull market.

In its chart, BofA emphasised the Dow’s long-term characteristics, noting that the index is generally characterised by protracted sideways consolidations interspersed with long-term upward breakouts. The company anticipates that the stock market’s long-term upward trend will hold.

The secular bull market appears to be continuing, according to the recent upside breakouts from large bases on the Dow Jones Industrial Average and other important US equity indices, according to BofA.

The Dow has reached new record highs, but the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 are still a few percentage points shy of surpassing their January 2022 highs.
